Success Story

"HELPING PEOPLE, HELPING ANIMALS"

Animals Rescue Inc.'s no-kill shelter provides care to hundreds of abused and abandoned dogs and cats until new homes can be found.

They also help pet owners and pets in times of crisis. Homeless persons, cancer and AIDS patients, elderly and disabled persons on fixed incomes, victims of violence and people struggling to survive other hardships are all aided.

Homeless persons assisted by Animal Rescue had even chosen to live on the street or in their cars rather than seek help and risk losing their pets.

Like me, these people often have no one else to turn to.

As a young mother of two, I found myself facing what I thought would have been "the unthinkable" - a cancer diagnosis. I had one young daughter and had just given birth to a new baby a few months before. Now, instead of being able to enjoy what should have been one of the happiest times of my life, I needed to start cancer treatments right away. And to make matters worse, my husband was stationed overseas.

I felt completely overwhelmed. With cancer treatements set to begin and two young children depending on me for care, I knew I wouldn't be able to give my pet cat the care that she also needed. Yet, I couldn't bear the thought of losing her, especially now when life seemed so precious. With no one else to turn to I called Animal Rescue for help.

Animal Rescue's staff assured me that they would take care of my pet in their no-kill shelter until my husband's return and until I could finish my cancer treatments. Knowing that my pet was there, safely waiting for me, helped me get through my crisis and our family was happily reunited with our pet upon my completion of treatment.
