Zoey is a 4-year-old German Shepherd who was brought to Greenhill as a stray by an animal welfare officer. There were definite signs of neglect - she had severe dermatitis with thinning fur and a flaky coat, broken teeth, and was extremely emaciated. Her skin condition made her so uncomfortable that she couldn’t stop scratching herself. She was timid and under socialized. At the shelter Zoey received the care, medical care, and rehabilitation she desperately needed. Our veterinary team gave her medicated baths, put her on a nourishing feeding schedule, and trimmed her uncomfortably long nails. Our kennel team played and socialized with her often and gained her trust until she flourished into a happy and friendly girl! When she was ready for adoption, she quickly found the perfect family who would treat her like a princess! Now she gets to go on daily runs and has gained her confidence! Greenhill Humane Society is committed to achieving a high level of care for the homeless pets in our shelters. We follow the Association of Shelter Veterinarians Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters. Greenhill has been helping homeless, abandoned, and abused animals for more than 70 years and is the leader in animal welfare for the mid-Oregon area, thanks to compassionate donors like you. Greenhill never puts a time limit on how long an animal can be in the shelter before finding a new loving family. Your support helps ensure our commitment to providing quality care for the animals at Greenhill Humane Society. Thank you again for your gift and support.
